Also want to add that the Dirtbombs covered Lynott’s “Ode to a Black Man” on ULTRAGLIDE IN BLACK.

I got heavily into Thin Lizzy thanks to Mick Collins and his cover from Phil Lynott's solo album, that's been mentioned. They had a great run, and were one of the best hard rock bands with equal amounts emotion and cred.

On another note, what do you think about Rory Gallagher? They have very different tones but maybe it's the time and being from Ireland, there's something there. Gallagher is like Chandler and Lizzy is more Hammett, in my opinion. And that's not a dig at either.

I've heard some of Gallagher's stuff and liked it, and I hear the similarities in some sense, yeah. The 'Top Priority' album in particular has some great jams on it ("Bad Penny" being my favorite of them), though I get the suspicion he's probably widely overlooked outside of Ireland and/or blues-rock diehards.

I think I started with Photo-Finish because of "Last of the Independents" ... a few of his songs name-check '70s crime flicks and Hammett, like "Continental Op." I only learned of him from a postcard that Ken Bruen sent me. He's not a raw as Thin Lizzy, but he's fun, and Irish Tour '74 is a solid live album.

Thin Lizzy have a song for every one of my feelings, and that's about as easy as I can explain my love.
